You Registered! You Pledged! You WALKED!
On Sunday, September 13th, 110 teams and over 2500 walkers, friends and supporters marched and cheered their way along this year's route, raising funds and awareness about HIV/AIDS. The energy, enthusiasm and commitment from all those who walked, pledged, volunteered, sponsored and donated products or services made this year's walk a resounding success.
We are pleased to inform you that the 2009 Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life Toronto has raised over $280,000 to date for social support services at the AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT). With outstanding and corporate matching pledges still to be counted, we are confident that this total will rise to over $450,000 by the year's end.
Thanks to you, ACT will continue to provide programs and services for people living with HIV/AIDS, along with education and outreach programs to prevent HIV transmission. With two new HIV infections each day in Toronto, your support is vital!
