About Act

Founded in 1983, the AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT) provides programs and services to people living with, affected by, and at risk for HIV/AIDS.

25 years into the pandemic, there is still a need for action. Every day, two people are newly infected with HIV in Toronto. ACT provides support services to meet the needs of the growing number of people in our community living with HIV/AIDS. We also do community outreach and education to stop the spread of the virus.

Funds raised by the Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life Toronto fund the practical support services of the AIDS Committee of Toronto. We know that until people's most basic needs are met, we can't address the other issues affecting them. We help people living with HIV/AIDS with drives, moves, a furniture bank, and free clinics with experts to assist with tax returns and insurance benefits.

With your support, we can continue to provide caring, responsive and effective services to people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.
