BACKGROUNDER: 2011 Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life Toronto campaign
The 2011 Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life Toronto campaign informs the Toronto public about HIV prevalence rates. The design is bold and arresting. People need to know -- HIV is a reality here in Toronto:
- 1 in 3 new HIV diagnoses are among youth under 30
- 1 in 5 gay men live with HIV
- 1 in 5 new HIV diagnoses are among women
It is our hope that these facts followed by the call to action will encourage people to register and support this year’s Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life Toronto. With statistics like these, it is critical that we raise awareness, and raise much needed funds for the important work of ACT.
